Our client, a leading provider of Further Education, is seeking a qualified Careers Adviser to provide advice and guidance to students during their busy enrolment period.

You will need to have a working knowledge of course advice for A Level and GCSE students, and the new grading system, progression routes and course advice.

Responsible to: Senior Careers Adviser you will:

•Provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance to all clients, internal and external, 14-19 and adult, on an individual or group basis.
•Prepare and present group works tailored to client group.
•Advising students and staff on Higher Education Student Finance and UCAS.
•Maintain records and undertake qualitative and quantitative monitoring of the College’s careers education and guidance services.
•Maintain and update all careers information and resources within the College, ensuring the Support Centre and associated satellite services are equipped with paper-based and software resources to support careers education and guidance.
•Liaise with Additional Learning Support, HE curriculum and Student Support to provide Careers Advice to high needs/HE cohorts and looked after children as required.
•Support the work of the Admissions / Student Engagement team in guiding and supporting applicants or referrals with impartial advice and guidance.
•Liaise with staff across the College with any issue relating to Careers advice and guidance.
•Act as one of the College’s UCAS co-ordinators to co-ordinate the electronic UCAS application process for the College and advise on personal statements for student UCAS forms
•Liaise with external bodies, such as Job Centre Plus, employers and other training providers and Schools.
•Attend School liaison events and College Open events as required.

You must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified Careers Adviser providing advice and guidance to individuals and groups. You will ideally hold a level 6 qualification but Level 4 may be acceptable.
