The Client
A world leading engineering company involved in border security

The Role:
Work with the Bid Manager and Product Line Management Teams to ensure that the cost volume is compliant, competitive, and compatible with the proposal. Develops the cost strategy and layout of the cost/business volume utilising the approved Bid Approval Form (BAF) to populate client price books.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for managing all proposal cost activities to ensure high quality and consistency during cost volume development.
+ To provide Executive Summaries of the cost/price model to go forward for Corporate approval at the most senior levels of the Company.
+ Gathers costs from all identified sources. Establishes the guidelines for the Basis of Estimates if required.
+ Oversees the development of or writes any text required for the cost/business volume including commercial caveats, notes, assumptions, inclusions and exclusions.
+ Participate in establishing and updating cost engineering/modelling approaches while keeping continuous process improvement in mind.
+ Works with Sales to develop competitive pricing strategies
+ To seek to continuously improve the bid process bringing in best practice and educating all stakeholders involved in the tender costing process.
+ Due to the changing nature of the industry this position may require you to fulfil other duties as assigned by your line Manager.

Key Experience:
+ Experience as a Financial Analyst
+ Experience preparing cost proposals for equipment and service provision.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
+ Adept with pricing model development.
+ Working with SMEs to ascertain recurring and nonrecurring costs.
+ Risk analysis, management and mitigation
+ Competitive analysis
+ Ability and willingness to work with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment is a must.
+ Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills are essential.
+ Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
+ Demonstrated track record of two years of on-time and on-budget cost proposal preparation – preferably in an OEM environment.
+ Experience of preparing models for reverse auctions is an advantage

Salary:
Circa £40,000 plus benefits
