Procurement Manager (Supplier Account Manager / CIPS Qualified)

Greenford, West London

£45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Procurement manager required for a global leader working in multiple industries such as; Security & Cyber, Defence, Aerospace, Transport and, Nuclear, Communications and Energy.

The role would suit a Procurement Manager with a CIPS qualification coupled with experience within the Defence and Aerospace industry. Experience with strategic / tactical procurement processes will be highly advantageous.

The core focus of the Procurement Manager will be to maximise value for money through the Procurement process by identifying & implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to improve the design and competitiveness of their products. You will be working as part of a team to manage the supply chain in relation to Cost, Quality, Delivery and Improvements.

Procurement Manager Role:
- Develop & Implement a commodity Procurement Strategy for the supply chain
- Responsible for the management of the procurement of bought out materials
- Ensure that bought out materials meet specification, delivery & quality requirements
- Identify supply chain risks & introduce necessary risk mitigation plans
- Develop supplier relationships
- Identify and evaluate supplier capability and competitiveness
- Ongoing development of suppliers to asses who will meet current & future business needs
- Establish supplier contracts and ensure flow down of terms and conditions from Customer contracts is understood and accepted in the supply chain and relevant clauses included in supplier contracts
- Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers to review delivery, quality & cost performance, existing & future requirements as well as improvement programmes
- Establish with suppliers, a supply chain process that will generate and increase inventory turns and lead time reductions
- Maximise profit contribution & value for money by optimising cost savings on high value material expenditures
- Develop inventory management strategies aimed at achieving zero stock outs for materials supporting our manufactured products.
- Actively work together with our Engineering/Programmes teams & our strategic suppliers to reduce costs, improve designs, remove risks and reduce product lead times.
- Follow market conditions in support of the overall supply chain process & obtain and communicate technology developments within the Engineering Team to support new product programmes.
- Communicate with the Engineering Team during the project life cycle & provide intelligent purchasing support to product designs and be influential in the make/buy decision process.
- Continuously assess the procurement process and, where appropriate, suggest and implement corrective action to improve the process

Procurement Manager Requirements:
- CIPS qualified is highly desirable
- Experience in Global sourcing
- Driving Licence + Car

* Must have aerospace or high level PCB related experience *
* Must be able to obtain security clearance - UK resident for 5 years' minimum
