Job Purpose:

The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of a suite of reporting and analytic solutions, both existing and to be designed, to effectively communicate critical Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) information to various internal and external stakeholder communities thus supporting the activities of the wider Safety Heath and Environment Team.
The post holder will support all aspects of solution delivery including design, development and implementation both in an individual capacity and in collaboration with additional reporting resources located both onshore and offshore, as required.

The post holder will be experienced in the latest Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) tools including Reporting Services and ideally Power BI, as well as being able to work with and integrate current and historical data sets, whilst overcoming typical data challenges such as quality and format.
The post holder will be expected to proactively lead the SHE team in collaboration with its stakeholders towards solutions that provide clear insight in a timely fashion whilst keeping any manual effort to a minimum. The outputs from these solutions will present the information in such a way, both pictorially and written, that it provides the basis for sound business decisions and strategic plans to be formulated and monitored.

Dimensions:

The role reports to the Health and Safety Engagement Manager and the post holder will form part of a small team who are responsible for the management of the incident, inspection and investigation management system (known as AIRline), external reporting to stakeholders including the Health and Safety Executive and the provision of business wide SHE performance reporting.

Principal Accountabilities:

Manage the design, development, implementation of regular, robust and auditable reporting processes, which where possible will involve automation to ensure the process runs as efficiently as possible.
Review data sources and the existing SHE team, and the wider Business reports to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in data accuracy, reporting efficiency and robustness of reporting processes.
Consult with key stakeholders to determine the suitability of existing analytics, in terms of future requirements and work collaboratively to ensure that a consistent approach to SHE reporting across all areas of the business.
Work closely with partners in Information Solutions (IS) and the Information and Data Solutions Team to ensure current and legacy electronic SHE data remains accessible and where appropriate providing support in data transfer or reporting upgrades projects.
Management of the incident, inspection and investigation management system (known as AIRline) including co-ordination of software upgrades, data import and export, as well as on-going development of the system to meet future business needs.
Supporting the wider business through the provision of information services including business analysis, requirements capture, data modelling, data extraction and analysis, solution development, deployment and ongoing support.
Using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack to develop end to end information solutions to meet Business requirements.
Deputising for the Airline Reporting Manager where required and providing back up support to the SHE Reporting Co-ordinators to cover holidays/sickness and peaks of work.
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, standards, and strategies including monitoring of trends, legislation and best practice.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent from experience, the candidate should also possess advanced Information Service (IS) skills as these are essential for this role.
A Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Solutions Expert (MCSE) including two or more of the following qualifications:
Exam 70-461 Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014
Exam 70-463 Implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014
Exam 70-466 Implementing Data Models and Reports with Microsoft SQL Server
Exam 70-467 Designing Business Intelligence Solutions with Microsoft SQL Server
Ability to create advanced Excel Visualisations including the use of Power Query and Power Pivot components where appropriate
Experience with Data Integration and knowledgeable in Data Warehousing techniques including Data Modelling, Data Mastery and Data Quality
Ideally the ability to create Power BI solutions using both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Portal

Ability to use Office Automation techniques to integrate reporting elements within Office suite components such as PowerPoint and Word
Knowledge and ideally experience of managing and analysing SHE data and a valid NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate would be advantageous.
Good verbal and written communications skills and confident in creating and delivering presentations.
Good planning and decision-making skills.

The ability to work both as a member of a team and on their own initiative.
