Role – Maintenance Engineer

Salary - £39,535 + 6% Bonus Twice Per Year

Overtime – Endless overtime paid at 1.5

Location – Tamworth

Shift Pattern – 3’s and 2’s Days and nights

I have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to work for one of world’s largest manufacturer of automated material handling systems in the world. The company turns over more than £1 billion in the UK alone and employee over 10,000 employees. The company deliver an excellent 99.2% on customer orders with over 180,000 orders per week. This is done through state of the art machines including cranes, conveyor systems, shuttle systems and robots. Their site in Tamworth is one of the largest automated distribution centres in Europe with a maintenance team of over 80 engineers.

The Role

You will be working with state of the art automation equipment including roller and Belt Conveyors, High Bay Cranes (Pallet and Tote), Pick to Light Systems, Sortation, Carton Assembly, Strapping, Wrapping, Spiral and Telescopic Conveyors.

Your day to day responsibilities as a Maintenance Engineer will include:

* The planned and reactive maintenance and service of automated cranes and conveyors at site.
* Working as part of a huge on-site maintenance engineering team of over 80 engineers.
* Mechanically you will mainly be replacing worn out parts on the conveyors which will include rollers, bearings and pulleys.
* Electrical work will include reading through electrical schematics, utilizing electrical test equipment such as multi-meters and fault finding on panels.
* Maintenance and breakdown repair of Strapping, Wrapping and sortation machinery.

The Person

To be successful in your application for this role you will need:

* An electrical or mechanical qualification
* Maintenance experience in a production, manufacturing or warehousing environment.
* Alternatively, you could be from the Navy, Army or RAF with an electrical qualification.
