Role Purpose (Summary)

Responsible for the development and alignment of Tower focused reference architectures, collaborative development of Tower services and associated roadmaps, and communication of the Tower services' Target Technology Architecture Blueprints. Provide support to the delivery of global enterprise programs.

General Description

Contributes to and drives domain focused global standards and product/services solution selection

Analyze and understand the impacts of projects on QBE’s enterprise architecture and support in scheduling and prioritization of projects to minimize rework

Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption

Identify technology improvement opportunities across QBE to deliver cost savings and improved business service and support the scoping and prioritization of these improvement opportunities

Maintain a thorough understanding of QBEs business and domain strategies to provide support during various technology decision making activities

Shape the early stages of projects to ensure that the project’s architecture vision is appropriately aligned with strategic direction

Support projects on occasions where necessary to overcome specific technical hurdles. Contribute to project deliveries by performing the Solution Architect role

Communicate QBE’s enterprise architecture to relevant IT and business stakeholders including training of team members to assist in understanding of enterprise architecture concepts

Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility

Essential Requirements

8 years of Enterprise Architecture experience in a large organization, taking accountability for both conceptual thinking and practical implementation

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Understand technology strategy, analyze business processes, and propose technical information-based solutions to support the enterprise

Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts and tools

Strong knowledge of configuration and adaptation, deployment, design patterns, risk management and scalability

Must have an in-depth knowledge across IT services and solution technologies

Demonstrated practice of keeping current with new and emerging tools and technologies relevant to Enterprise Architecture

Effectively present information to influence organizational leaders and key stakeholders

Quickly understand, orient to, and learn new assignments

Critically review, analyze, synthesize, compare and interpret information

Conduct gap analysis of current state and desired future state; identify impact of a given decision

Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills

Strong application and technology understanding

Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Collaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goal
