Technical Officer with experience working within asset management urgently required.

Provide technical and general administrative support to the Contract Manager and the wider Operations Directorate.

Maintain the housing association's Asset Management System ensuring data is accurate and up to date, working proactively with Neighbourhood Managers and contractors.

Maintain Landlord Compliance programme of servicing, inspection and improvements.

Where required specify works, tender appropriate approved contractors to carry out such works, subject to health and safety and other statutory requirements.

Ensure that estate health and safety matters are monitored and issues of concern reported promptly to managers.

Liaise with contractors and consultants as required.

Provide technical support to the Operation Directorate in respect of landlord compliance, health & safety and planned and cyclical maintenance work and on complex repair issues referred from the customer service centre.

Understanding of the social housing.

Understanding of health and safety regulations relating to building works in occupied and unoccupied property

Excellent oral and written communication in order to effectively deal with customers and colleagues. Good numeracy skills to interpret essential statistical information.
IT skills including the ability to use CRM effectively.

Previous experience of enabling other team members build technical skills C
Previous experience of helping others learn and develop
Experience identifying H&S issues in a social housing environment and arranging remedial action

This role may require a DBS check, depending on the scheme being covered. Therefore, a standard DBS check may be requested in the event of you being offered the position as part of our pre-employment checking process.


Educated to GCSE ‘0 Level standard

A nationally recognised Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent)

An understanding of technical housing management issues

Knowledge of relevant building legislation
The ability to exercise good judgement.

An understanding of how to deliver excellent services to customers.

Strong communication skills, able to adapt approaches and techniques dependent on the audience.

Able to develop effective working relationships with team members, across the association and with contractors

Ability to work innovatively, developing good practice and new solutions to effect improvements to the service.

It literate (ability to use core Microsoft programmes) and an ability to use CRM as a mechanism to improve service delivery

Good organisational skills.
