We are currently looking for a Development Manager who does not wish to be limited by "glass ceilings" from a construction background to fill a permanent opening with a company located in North West of England. Interested candidates will have the opportunity to work across a variety of projects with one of the Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For.

Responsibilities of the Development Manager

* Ensure that client CDM responsibilities are identified.
* Manage all external/Internal parties, including Contractors and Consultants to ensure that all aspects of the contract are being adhered to.
* Submittal and development of planning applications where necessary.
* Commission reports and surveys where necessary to enhance planning applications are met.
* Identify and meet the need and expectations of project stakeholders.
* Liaise with local authorities as required to consider strategic risks associated.
* Manage internal Design Team objectives and workloads.
* Identify risks and plan contingency actions.
* Assess contractor's suitability and competence levels.
* Manage costs and report as necessary.
* Establish communication plans and communication strategies with key stakeholders.

Requirements of the Development Manager:

* University degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Project Management or Surveying.
* Experience in delivering projects in excess of £20M.
* A comprehensive knowledge of JCT and NEC3 building contracts.
* A comprehensive understanding of Contract Administration would be desirable
* CIOB or RICS Membership
* Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
* Full UK Driving License

This position offers a starting salary between £50k-55k with fantastic project exposure.
