Smithson Gray have a vacancy for a Crystallisation Scientist with to support the development of Crystallisation processes to work at one of our clients sites based in Sandwich, Kent.

The role will be to support the crystallisation, isolation and drying activities within the client department via laboratory experiments. You will also be carrying out analysis of product samples and supporting differing technical initiatives including some design, installation, repair and maintenance of specialised equipment.

You will need to be an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Crystallisation Scientist with experience chemistry(organic or synthetic especially) or chemical engineering in a laboratory setting. Experience of NMR. HPLC and MS with solid form or particle size characterisation would be required. Also experience in scale up of chemical processes would be an advantage.

You will need a degree or equivalent in chemistry, and a Msc or PhD would be an advantage. Also a can do approach and quick and willing approach to learning is required, as well as a being a team player and an organised accurate approach to process and documentation.
