About the role
Our client is currently seeking a Sales Manager who will provide invaluable assistance to / cover for the Executive Director, using your skills to motivate our team of self employed commission only Advisers that cover England and Wales and small team of employed Telephone advisers based at our Head office in WSM ensuring that Advisers have all of the support needed to achieve their targets whilst ensuring company policy is adhered to, chairing meetings and training when required, and also helping to shape and grow the business. You will be expected to support sales staff, (both employed and self-employed). In addition to contributing innovative marketing ideas, you will be responsible for keeping an up-to-date knowledge of market conditions and competitor activities.
We’re looking for a hungry, self-motivated and well-presented individual, committed to carrying out their duties with integrity, meeting and exceeding targets, and achieving and maintaining the relevant industry qualifications. To succeed, you will need a proven track record in sales management, including impressive experience in a similar position and have the ability to lead by example. Great customer service skills and a full UK driving licence are also essential.
You will be reporting to the Board of Directors and working with mid/senior level management, marketing, and technical staff. Strategic planning is a key part of the job description, since it is the Sales Managers responsibility to increase the business coming in from each adviser. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions and services the company can provide and those of the company’s competitors. Knowledge of the industry would be an advantage but full training on our services would be given.
Keep in regular contact with the Field Sales team to increase business. Manage and support our in- house telephone adviser team to increase business Assist the Executive Director with recruitment and training of new Advisers. Assist the Advisers to set their plans to enable them to achieve bonuses Work with the team to develop proposals that meets to the Advisers needs, concerns, and objectives. Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately. Present an image that sets a good example for the Advisers. Management and Research Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate. Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system. Forecast sales targets and ensure agreed targets are met by you. Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets. Work with Advisers to ensure that prerequisites like bonus threshold and conversions are fulfilled within a timely manner. Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people, services and capabilities.
