The Company

Our client specialises in the manufacturing of products for the construction market. With 19 manufacturing sites across the UK, they can produce anything from bricks and blocks, tiles and chimneys, to precast concrete floors and beams, as well as bespoke one off products.

Their Coleshill site is one their largest and busiest sites, producing over 140,000 blocks per day in their fully automated production facility. Equipment includes mixing and batching plant, transfer cars, steam boilers, autoclaves, block presses and fully automated robotic palletisers.

Their

The Role

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for three key areas; Reactive Maintenance, Planned Preventative Maintenance and Installation Project work. Breakdowns take priority to ensure the plant is kept running, with the rest of the week focused on PPMs and Project work.

The duties of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be 95% electrical in nature against 5% mechanical as the site has separate Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Electrical tasks include fault finding using a multimeter against electrical drawings, fault finding using a multimeter on PLCs (Siemens S5 & S7), fault finding, rectification and installation of panels, repairing AC and DC motors (Brake, Star Delta and Soft Start), changing sensors, inverters, relays and contactors.

As much as the plant is automated and PLC fault finding is done with a laptop, however candidates do not need to be able to write or alter code.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

* Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification.
* Must have experience performing electrical maintenance in an automated environment
