Are you a secretary with audio typing who wants to get into Legal? Or are you a Legal Secretary who can start work immediately?

Family Legal Secretary- Temp needed ASAP £9.50 ph

Smart Recruitment are offering a fantastic opportunity to work within a rapidly growing solicitors at their offices within the South-West. This is a temporary role to start ASAP but will be ongoing and if successful in the role will be considered for a permanent position. The purpose of the role is to assist their Legal Advisors to ensure they can perform efficiently in helping clients achieve the best legal solution in line with their needs.

Ideally this person will have legal experience within Family Law, be able manage their workloads efficiently, and have strong interpersonal skills ensuring they are professional and client focused. Those with strong audio typing and good secretarial skills without the legal background will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Creating accurate documents from digital dictation and input into the case management system.
- Drafting legal documents and filing them as appropriate.
- Entering email correspondences in to Caseplan.
- Ensuring accurate photocopying.
- Checking post and ensuring it is signed as required and ready for collection.
- Opening and creating new files as instructed.
- Ensure file correspondence and documents are dealt with promptly and accurately.
- Assist Legal Advisors with file management.
- Prepare files for archiving ensuring completion of relevant forms.
- Communicate with clients, recording details and passing information to the appropriate person.
- Maintain diaries, including scheduling appointments and arranging meetings.
- Ensure whereabouts of Legal Advisors are known to reception to provide efficiency when handling client calls.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all practice, and client documentation and information.
- Observe the Firm`s standards of quality management in all respects.
- Undertaking additional duties which may be requested.

Skills Required

- Microsoft Office and database administration experience, typing speed of 60 wpm (Typing test will be administered)
- Strong multi-tasking skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Legal experience preferred but not required
- Audio Typing and strong secretarials skills
