Group Infrastructure Manager manager required for exciting opportunity with our client who are a leading privately owned group with global facilities across 4 divisions. 

This role is a group function with responsibility to maintain and develop high quality, secure, resilient IT infrastructure to support business objectives and facilitate business change Lead a team of engineers to deliver a complex global infrastructure, service improvements and move toward a more agile design.  A key aspect will be to manage IT technical support staff in the UK and Internationally either directly or via matrix management and coordinate tasks with their line managers. Prepare and maintain IT service standards for the global locations and provide a continuous improvement plan. Manage supplier relationships obtaining the best value services.

Key Accountabilities:

- Lead a global team of engineers and support staff
- Take responsibility for projects and assignments related to the technical specialism, as the leader of a functional team
- To ensure that deployed technology is always appropriate to meet the current and planned future needs of the Business. Drive continuous improvement introducing new practices or services as justified
- Ensure all platforms and systems meet capacity and performance requirements
- Contribute to the design and implementation of IT infrastructure including Storage, Backup, Virtualisation and Windows Infrastructure
- Contribute to the architectural design and decision making in relation to the infrastructure estate
- Maintain platforms infrastructure roadmaps and provide input into IT strategy
- Manage the multi location , virtual, IT help desk providing services to the Group with appropriate service levels, reports and communication
- Providing timely and accurate communications on systems issues and maintenance, including communicating within IT and with business departments  to ensure that knowledge is shared
- Keep up to date with new technologies and provide business cases to trial or introduce such technologies

Other Information:

- The post holder will be required to work flexibly to ensure that IT support is available when required therefore some evening and weekend work will be required
- Manage and participate in an on call rota when implemented


Functional Competencies    

- Managing IT infrastructure and security within a multi site environment preferably International
- Built and managed motivated  teams from different cultural backgrounds 
- Worked with business departments to implement changing needs
- Providing technical support, training and user guides
- Experience providing architectural direction for multiple projects including cloud technologies
- Excellent communicator and able to influence at all levels
- Experience of leading a geographically dispersed team of highly skilled engineers
- Experience of building relationships across different cultures and levels within an organisation
- Experience of managing 3rd Party vendors and service levels
- Drive change in a busy environment whilst maintaining business continuity
- Expert knowledge of Storage, Backup, and Virtualisation technologies, architecture, maintenance and troubleshooting complex issues
