Job Title: Development Chef's Assistant


Job Purpose:

To support and assist the Development Chef team. To provide refreshments and lunches for visitors. Maintain periodic cleaning rota for the kitchen environment and day to day maintenance of a safe clean working environment. To provide support to the Development teams in the collection and provision of ingredients and raw materials.

Job Accountabilities:

* Support Development Chefs with kitchen organisation, stock management and cleanliness
* Shop for, prepare and deliver lunch/ meal items
* Assist the Development Chefs in the creation of NPD samples as required including preparing cooking sauces from scratch and creating recipes
* Arrange prepare and cook product lunches in a professional and timely fashion for customer meetings as requested
* Liaise with other team members for assistance where required across sites
* On a daily basis collect factory ingredients and raw materials from coldstores and factories at all sites to enable the Chef teams to work with pace and efficiently
* Shopping when required to purchase products and ingredients locally and occasionally further afield
* Sample collection, pack out and labelling and occasional minor make-ups; sample shipment
* Saucy Brand Product complaint sample collations and shipments.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in a career in product development. They will be able to learn a great deal from working with our Development Chefs and this may lead to progression within the Company.

Candidates must have basic food handling skills to enable the provision of lunches and all aspects of hospitality. Preferably educated to NVQ Level 2, ideally in catering however this is not essential. They must hold a full, clean driving licence and have basic IT skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet Explorer. They must be able to work on their own initiative, to prioritise workload and meet all deadlines. They will need good communication skills and a passion for getting it right first time.

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday and hours of work will be 7.30am to 4pm. However a degree of flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business. Salary to be confirmed at interview.
