I am currently looking for a Head Chef to work for a lovely well established Care Home in Weston Super Mare, you will produce and deliver food to a high standard of quality and presentation within budget

You will receive a salary of £15,470

Hours of work are 35hours a week between 7.30am - 7.30pm Monday - Sunday you will only work 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.
You will work 2:4 weekends, your rota will be given to you 2 weeks in advance.

Free parking on site.

Main Duties

" To ensure guests receive quality food that meets the required standard set by the Executive Chef with the minimum amount of wastage, together with the appropriate level of service.
" To provide meals at flexible times in line with extended restaurant opening times.
" To actively contribute in cleaning the kitchen area and maintain the highest standards of hygiene in all aspects of the catering area.
" In the absence of the Executive Chef and Head Chef, to order and receive in provisions from suppliers approved by the Manager.
" In the absence of the Executive Chef and Head Chef, to ensure that all stock levels are maintained and up to date.
" To ensure that all supplies are properly stored and strict stock rotation is carried out at all times and assist with the monthly stock take.
" To observe all Health and Safety regulations including the keeping of food samples.
" In the absence of the Executive Chef and Head Chef to record and investigate complaints taking prompt and appropriate action when necessary, whilst keeping the manager informed.
" To advise the Head Chef of any equipment or system malfunction.
" To conform to all working practices as specified by the Executive Chef..
" Contribute any ideas to the compilation of menus and presentation of food.
" Any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division.

Skills Required

" Qualification in Catering e.g City & Guilds or equivalent
" Basic Food Hygiene training
" Experience of catering for people with specific dietary requirements.
" Awareness of Health and Safety and COSHH Procedures and Regulations
" Experience of working in a similar role in a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality.
" Experience of catering for a minimum of 50 people
" Understanding and awareness of the needs of the vulnerable
