Care Leaver's Support Worker – Full Time and Part Time

ISP Recruitment are currently recruiting for both full time and part time support workers.

The successful candidate will be working with service users aged 16 to 18 years both males and females. The client specialises in care leavers and therefore the service users will need various support needs which include:
o Mental health
o Substance misuse
o Challenging behaviour
o Physical health
o Plus more

The ideal candidate must be able to manage their time effectively to ensure that they are able to see all of your service users and also be flexible to address any crisis situations.

Based in: Milton Keynes
Hours: Fulltime and Part time
Contract: Temporary
Salary: £8.00 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

- Carrying out Assessments and Risk Assessments and implement management and support plans to ensure a positive experience for clients moving toward independent living.
- Contribute to ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met and that project is maintained to an acceptable level of cleanliness.
- Working alongside all relevant staff in supporting clients in developing skills necessary for independent living through structured process.
- Keeping accurate record of contact with clients and agencies using bespoke software.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and key agencies.
- Team working and co-operating in support provision and maintaining high quality service.
- Managing self and relationships with others
- To promote, encourage and organise clients’ involvement
- To identify and support clients with complex needs or who disengage by working closely with the Positive Intervention Team.

- Ability to maintain enthusiasm for a high level of contact with clients on a day to day basis.
- A non-judgemental approach to working with homeless people.
- A genuine interest in working with young people to make changes in their life to move them towards independent living.
- Understand the tasks involved in the day to day running of the supported accomodation.
- Need to empower clients to make positive changes.
- Understand the issues involved in monitoring fees payments and dealing effectively with arrears.
- Understand The needs and support requirements of vulnerable clients on low (or no) income, including those with mental health and/or substance misuse problems.
- Understand the Professional boundaries and importance of confidentiality in relation to work
- An understanding of and commitment to Diversity & Equality as it applies to a supportive service and in the workplace
- Willingness and ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work outside of shift/rota on occasions.
- Flexible in response to changing organisational requirements
- Own transport is desirable
