Salary up to £30,000 per annum

This new role is working for an exciting business based in the Tamworth area. You will be an experienced Purchasing/Buyer individual, used to managing raw materials and stock levels.
Ideally you will have experience within the engineering industry or in a similar industry. You will be driven, confident and have a can do attitude.

Your day to day duties will consist of the following;

• Managing raw materials and consumable inventory
• Report to management on stock levels, issues etc
• Manage and place orders from suppliers also replenish stock avoid insufficiencies or excessive surplus
• Manage purchase orders outstanding and any overdue orders, liaise with suppliers regarding due dates
• Manage replenishment parameters and lead times within the computer system to aid the purchasing decisions
• Manage supplier accounts within the computer system
• Receipt goods in addressing any shortages with supplier and production director
• Conduct cycle counts on raw materials to ensure that the computer system inventory matches the physical inventory
• Evaluate current supplier and initiate new supplier relationships when necessary
• Review current product formulations to see if any alternative raw materials can be used to improve quality or cost of the finished product
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and prices
• Control costs in line with business expectations
• Ensure product stock levels are maintained at all times & to meet production demand
• Ensure pricing is maintained in the computer system
• Work with supplier and production to look at new products that are available and if they would be of benefit
• Conduct trials to see if new products can be used
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers

The ideal candidate will;

• Be experienced within a previous purchasing/buyer role
• Be experienced in managing raw materials and stock levels
• Be Highly confident and have a can do attitude
• Have a keen eye to detail.
• Have the ability to communicate and stand your ground

In return you will get;

• £30,000 per annum
• 21 Days Holiday + Bank holidays (Shut down over Christmas for 5 days)

• 8:30 – 5:00 Monday – Friday
