A Production/Manufacturing Engineer is required to join an awards winning components manufacturer, serving customers within all of the major markets. This is an excellent opportunity to gain involvement in developing, establishing and optimising the manufacturing processes for both new and existing products in order with cost, quality and lead time expectations are met or exceeded. Also you will support the procurement and introduction to site of additional and upgraded production equipment through liaison with all the necessary personnel and external supplier contacts and keeping all costs to an absolute minimum, whilst contributing to the safe and efficient running of production processes and cost-effective use of downtime This role offers a salary of £40,000-£45,000 with excellent benefits.

As a Production/Manufacturing Engineer you will be part of a team responsible for the smooth introduction of products into production and ensure that products are developed and delivered to meet contractual requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:

* Provide technical solutions for equipment and plant not performing to specified criteria
* To develop manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives
* To develop MWI'S and graphic illustrations to support manufacturing activities
* Develop and integrate materials, processes, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
* Support machine specification, design, operation design, procurement and commission
* Aid in the design and development of tools from initial design and modification to production acceptance
* Proactive role in cycle time reduction whilst maintaining quality capability
* Development of new tool concepts and press motions / control to develop improved capability
* Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues, such as repeat quality concerns
* Provide productivity/repeatability assessments for forming parts to meet cost, productivity and quality requirements
* Validate and buy-off for gauges and checking fixtures
* Design, review, test and maintain manufacturing method processes
* Participate in lean manufacturing efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide technical support to operations
* Work as part of a team and actively take part in team activities including continuous improvement programmes
* Health and Safety controls and procedures
* 5S culture to be taken into consideration in all work
* Coaching, mentoring and training of technical and manufacturing operatives
* Identify all operations to improve machine processes, removing any elements of waste
* Undertake additional training to develop and improve skills as the company requires
* To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and participate as and when necessary in companywide initiatives and projects.

In order to be successful in the role of Production/Manufacturing Engineer you will possess the following skillset:

* HND or equivalent level qualification in Manufacturing or Engineering.

* Exposure to design programs (CAD, CATIA etc.)

* Works effectively and cooperatively with others to achieve goals: establishes and maintains good working relationships.

* Ability to collect, organise and analyse data; summarise findings; develop conclusions and deploy recommendations from appropriate data sources.

* Clearly conveys information and ideas in a manner that engages the audience and helps them retain the message. Actively listens to others to clarify own and others understanding.

* Works effectively and cooperatively with others to achieve goals: establishes and maintains good working relationships.

This position is to be based in Worcester and is easily commutable from Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Redditch, Malvern, Bromyard, Stourport-On-Severn, Evesham, Tewkesbury, Pershore, Ledbury, Gloucester, and Hereford.
