My Corby based client is recruiting a Legal Executive Assistant on a contract basis to provide executive assistance to the MD, and to proactively manage the company's legal requirements and affairs in liaison with specific legal bodies/entities as required.

Key responsibilities

Undertake appropriate projects on behalf of the Managing Director and to proactively manage Company legal requirements and affairs in liaison with specific legal bodies/entities where necessary

* Board of Directors
* Administer Directors Membership Subscriptions

Legal Affairs

Provide the Company with effective legal coverage on business issues and requirements in relation to the administration of Trademarks/Intellectual Property. Where necessary selecting and overseeing the work of outside counsel/agencies. Drafting, editing and reviewing ad-hoc commercial/supplier/distributor/confidentiality agreements, ensuring the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and where applicable the preparation of briefs, motions or other court documents. This is in relation to, but not exclusively:

* Company Trademarks/International Domain Names/Intellectual Property
* Distribution agreements
* License requirements
* Confidentiality agreements
* Ad Hoc Legal Queries from Business and Distributors
* Company Car Leases
* Liaise with legal representatives and trademark lawyers, overseeing the notarisation of documents


* Arranging gifts for Distributors
* Undertake other duties and tasks that from time to time may be allocated to the jobholder that are appropriate to the grade of the job.
* Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection etc., and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook.


The successful candidate will be educated to degree level - ideally with a Law degree.

You will also need to have had the following experience:-

* Understanding of Company / intellectual property law and requirements
* Understanding basic Commercial Law
* Experience working in a similar role


* Must be able to use initiative and be proactive in planning work activities, prioritising actions and activities
* Self-motivated and driven
* Results orientated
* Excellent organisational skills
* Clear verbal communications skills to ensure accurate coordination of activities and queries, using combination of tact and perseverance.
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Advanced level IT skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Also ability in shorthand is desirable.
