Planning Enforcement officer

Are you a planning Enfocment officer, as I am looking to recruit for a Norht East London Borough and they are currently looking to recruit for an Enforcement officer to assist on an initial 3 month contract view to extend.

The suitable candidate would need to have a good working knowledge of the UK planning Enforcement. The case load of work is varied as there would be large case load of existing applications and some back log as part of the contract. The position would involve the reactive and pro-active enforcing of breaches of planning control including unauthorised developments, untidy land, advertising and unauthorised changes of use.

Other duties include:

* Undertake enforcement investigations, appeals and submissions under the Planning Acts, Orders and Regulations, including consultations, site visits, evaluation and negotiation with applicants/transgressors and other interested parties.
* Provide advice on possible breaches of planning control, including obtaining evidence, negotiation with interested parties, making recommendations for action, following up decisions on recommendations and instigating and effecting necessary legal proceedings in order to pursue breaches in planning controls.
* Prepare written documentation to a high standard, including complex reports and legal documentation.
* Prepare representations on behalf of the Council for appeals under the Planning Acts. To prepare such, representations in compliance with the timetables required by the Government's Planning Inspectorate.
* Prepare papers necessary for the pursuit of prosecutions. As a representative of the Council attend Court to give evidence.

The office is easily accessible from all areas in London, also there is parking available on site.

The client is flexible on rate and is looking at a rate between £18- £24; could be negotiated for the right candidate
