Science Teacher Specification

Science Teacher: We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Science Teacher. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and Science and have the ability to pass this on to their students. This is a full time Science school teaching position starting in September 2017.
This small technology college to the west of Southampton has been praised by OFSTED for the leadership's commitment to raising standards and consistently increasing student achievement. The core beliefs shared across the college promote commitment, responsibility, respect for self and others, and the pursuit of excellence. Students are encouraged to do their personal best, set themselves high aspirations and targets, and to seek continual improvement both academically and as citizens. There is a comprehensive library, which has hosted visits from notable authors who come to read their work and enthuse students about a possible career in writing. There are regular events and visitors to enrich the taught curriculum – during a multicultural festival, activities included Aboriginal art, Mexican cooking, steel pan drums, graffiti and Japanese. Extra-curricular activities include trips overseas, skiing, and a photography exhibition. Students take their social responsibilities seriously, and have met Holocaust survivors and traveled to World War I memorials in France.

The school is looking for a Science Teacher who is confident in their ability to engage with and inspire pupils to achieve their best. Candidates must be fully qualified Science School Teachers with excellent classroom practices and a love of teaching.

Applications from experienced Science Teachers and newly qualified Science Teachers are welcome
