A SEN school in the Sutton area is seeking a Science Teacher for the full 2017/18 academic year starting from September 2017. This is a specialist School which caters to a range of SEN, particularly those with Speech, Language and Communication difficulties. The School is ideally looking for a teacher who has qualified in Secondary Science and can offer this subject up to KS4. Some prior SEN experience would be beneficial, although not entirely essential, as there is a lot of TA support available. Pupils at this School generally perform slightly lower than the national average for their year groups, so, although you would be teaching Secondary ages, differentiation is key as some students will inevitably struggle to keep up academically.

Situated in what appears to be a large house, this School has a great feeling of community and it is somewhere that both teachers and students thrive. There is plenty of support available from TAs and also parallel class teachers and senior leadership staff. Due to the nature of the School, class sizes are incredibly small, making planning for your class much more manageable. Provision is made for student's individual progression and is supported by classroom assistants, many of whom are assigned to a particular pupil. The School also boasts designated therapists which provide students with 1:1 support tailored to their individual needs. There is also a Nurse on hand to administer any medication for medical conditions such as epilepsy. The School caters to students' emotional and social needs and well being in addition to their academic progression and has strong home-school links.

This great Sutton school is easily accessible by public transport from Clapham Junction, London Waterloo and Balham.
