Deputy Estates & Facilities Manager - NHS

I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS Blood and Transplant for a Deputy Estates & Facilities Manager. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 3 months, Monday to Friday and full time 37.5 hours a week.

Deputy Estates & Facilities Manager - Job Purpose

Act as the primary point of contract for, and liaise with, local customers at numerous properties.

Assist in the Management of staff, contractors and consultants to ensure the provision of high quality and efficient services to meet the needs of the NHSBT and its stakeholders, including the following:

* Archiving
* Reception
* Cleaning
* Catering, vending and hospitality
* Meeting rooms and equipment
* Portering
* Parking
* Petty cash
* Clinical, special and other waste
* Energy and utilities
* Post and goods (receipt and distribution)
* Plant, building and grounds maintenance (including Building Management system)
* Clerical support
* Security including issuing of security and car park passes
* Fire safety management
* Statutory records
* Communal photocopiers and faxes
* Local telecommunications (liaising with National telecoms manager)
* Space allocations, moves and changes
* Project Management
* Library
* General administration including filing, raising and paying invoices and keeping records.

Assist in the managing, motivating and empowering a team of well-trained staff, creating a team receptive to change and dedicated to achieving NHSB performance targets through SLAs and KPIs. Carry out staff appraisals, develop and implement Personal Development Plans for team members to meet the objectives of the organisation and the individuals.

Keep abreast of all relevant property and facilities management developments through continuous personal development. Provide opinions and submissions for Business cases and assist with planning short to long-term Facilities projects.

Support management in the day to day activities related to the programme of capital and revenue developments. Facilitate and tend to other department s projects and developments. Contribute to ensure projects managed by facilities are completed on time and within budget to meet the customer's requirements.

Deputy Estates & Facilities Manager - Key Skills

* Previous experience in am Estates and Facilities role, preferably within the NHS or another public sector organisation. Applicants from a Mechanical or Electrical background looking to step into a management role will be considered.
* Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and best practices
* Fire Safety Management
