Project Scientist - Analysis - UKAS - Analytical - Inorganic - ICP - Permanent - Staines - £23k-£25k

We are seeking a Project Scientist to join a leading company working within the water industry. You will be responsible for analysing routine and non-routine samples to UKAS requirements and within appropriate timescales.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that Internal Quality Control procedures are carried out and reported in the appropriate manner.
* Attend off-site projects to conduct testing, maintenance and calibration at least 2 days a week.
* Take appropriate action when samples fail to meet the required water quality standards or other agreed notification standards.
* Enter analytical results in a timely manner using the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
* Participate in internal and external training courses identified as appropriate to your continued development.
* Maintain accurate CPD records.
* Undertake any reasonable duties within the laboratory that may be required from time to time.
* Comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures at all times.

Key success measures:
* You are an individual with attention to detail that enjoys working as part of a team.
* You have working experience in an analytical chemistry environment using ICP-MS and IC.
* You must have a good understanding of water chemistry with a recognised degree in a science based subject, preferably Chemistry.
* You will demonstrate a working knowledge of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations in relation to chemistry.
* You will have a good level of computer literacy.
* You will demonstrate the ability to conduct routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and troubleshoot instrumentation problems, where appropriate.
* You will demonstrate an understanding of method development and validation.
* You will have an understanding of health and safety procedures, including COSHH and risk assessments.
