Responsible For: Maintenance/Installation, Production and Quality Engineering
Summary
The role has overall responsibility for
• Maintenance/installation activities across the Client - Slough facility, and rolling these out to other sites,
• Providing day-to-day production engineering support to drive continuous improvement,
• Supporting installations, service and troubleshooting at JV’s and licensee installations worldwide
• Supporting the development of client technology and associated production equipment
• Providing local test resources on customer trials and presenting tabulated results
• Liaising with the production team and commercial team to develop and deliver technical solutions for customers,
• Liaising with both internal and external partners to develop new processes and techniques for cleaning and testing DPFs and other emissions systems components

The successful candidate will be expected to achieve all of the above, and the Role also requires a hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated all-rounder with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Background
The client is a leading international supplier of technology and services for remanufacturing and cleaning Diesel Particulate Filters from heavy-duty diesel vehicles such as trucks and buses as well as cars. The Client technology is the most widely-used DPF cleaning process in the UK and has been used successfully to clean many thousands of DPF’s for nearly 15 years. DPF’s are becoming increasingly common on heavy-duty vehicles and diesel passenger cars in order to meet new emissions regulations around the world. The company recently established a JV operation in North America and has licences across Europe
Key Accountabilities
• Maintenance and installation activities at the Client site, and rolling this out to other sites.
• To provide day-to-day engineering support to production.
• To maintain the procurement, storage and use of spares and to help provide technical support to licensee installations.
• Supporting the development of Client technology and associated production equipment
Ongoing responsibilities
• To develop, document, review and implement systems, processes and procedures for preventive maintenance to reduce machine downtime and increase productivity.
• Work closely with production to coordinate, drive and implement continuous improvement
• To construct and carry out well planned tests and trials and to document and report findings.
• To provide day-to-day engineering support for production, including jigs, fixtures, trouble-shooting, equipment specification etc.
• . Understudy the Innovation Manager to maintain the company’s competitive differentiators, through excellence in technical solutions that may be protected by patents.
• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
• To participate and input into licensee support activities as necessary
• Liaising with the production team and commercial team to develop and deliver technical solutions for customers
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have an engineering , maintenance or production engineering background, with hands-on experience and knowledge of installing, trouble-shooting and maintaining a variety of mechanical, electrical and control (PLC) systems. Electrical 17th addition qualifications would be an advantage.
Have engineering workshop theory & practice skills to allow simple engineering parts to be produced, modified and repaired.
Be able to read engineering drawings and ideally able to produce simple drawings using standard CAD software.
An emissions technology and chemistry understanding would be a benefit.
Experience of developing and implementing international quality management standards ISO9000/14001/18001 or service environment with a significant engineering emphasis is important to this role.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software and documentation.

Salary Benefits and Conditions of Appointment
Salary negotiable but is depending on qualifications and experience. 40 hour week.
