LOGISTICS OPERATIONS MANAGER - Automotive

West Midlands

£50,000 - £60,000 + benefits

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Logistics you will have full autonomy to manage the day to day Operations and Logistics of a new manufacturing site in th West Midlands. Key tasks are to further implement a lean manufacturing strategy with the team, in balance with consistently achieving the targets in terms of cost, quality, safety and delivery. You will manage across all Material Planning, Production, Engineering, Manufacturing and Warehouse staff.

The Person

We are looking to recruit an individual who can lead, motivate and challenge a team in a highly pressurised, fast paced manufacturing environment. It is essential that you are from an automotive background with an understanding of the process and components involved. Experience of assembly operations would be preferable but not essential though experience of automotive (TS16949) is essential.

This role will involve some real challenges in terms of managing robust teams, supporting business growth, achieving Manufacturing and Production output targets and delivery, coaching and training.

You should have experience of:

Leading large Production and Manufacturing teams in a automotive, manufacturing facility.
*

Managing all material planning and warehouse activity across a business.
*

Ideal candidates will be of degree calibre and qualified in engineering and manufacturing subject.
*

Identifying problems and providing solutions.
*

Supporting and implementing Lean initiatives

Requirements for the role include:

*

MUST have industry related degree.
*

MUST have experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5s
*

Automotive or similar background in a fast moving industry controlling high volume.
*

MUST have experience of leading and managing the day to day logistics of a large and robust manufacturing facility.
*

Managerial experience, supervising and coaching front line managers responsible for team sizes 50+ in a fast moving logistics environment.
*

Ability to map a process and write standard work processes.
*

Ability to prioritise multiple projects at any one time.
*

Proficient use of Software applications such as CAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Accesses.
*

Data analyses, MRP/ERP (ideally EPICOR) or other electronic logistical inventory management systems is a requirement.
*

A team player with the ability to motivate and lead others.

The Company

This is a British based Manufacturing company and the group are investing £325m to manufacture a brand new facility in the West Midlands.
