Quality Manager

Our client is a rapidly growing automotive TS16949 registered manufacturing company requiring an experienced Automotive Quality Manager to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a progressive individual who wants to influence the direction of the business.

Primary responsibility is to maintain and improve quality systems, lead NPI and improve process effectiveness during this unprecedented growth and beyond.

Reporting to the Plant Manager

Responsibilities:
•Oversee the Quality Management System including TS16949
• Manage customer relationships related to both NPI (APQP, PPAP, ISIR etc.) and current product quality
• Manage the metrology function including the CMM department
• Lead and develop your team
• Work closely with your peers to achieve business KPIs
• Be an active facilitator in the continuous improvement programme

The Quality Manager will be expected to have automotive experience, be hands on and have operated successfully in a similar role.

Candidate must have:
• A proven track record in managing and implementing Quality systems including TS16949 and experience of ISO 14001
• Experience at leading technical personnel, staffing, reviews and goal setting.
• Familiarity in using problem solving tools such as 8D, 5Ys, Fishbone etc.
• A proven track record in managing relationships with both OEM and Tier 1 automotive customers
• Experience of challenging, developing and working with suppliers

Ideally candidate will have:
• A related HND / Degree or equivalent
• Experience of assembly, painting, precision machining, plastics and presswork
• Previous management experience of facilitating continuous improvement methodologies including, Lean, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, TPM, PPM
• An extensive knowledge of automotive 1st tier manufacturing and supply
• Leadership experience in a multi-cultural environment
• The ability to develop departmental strategies for both people and processes
• The ability to deploy departmental policy to subordinates and empower delivery of KPIs and objectives and ensure a structured adherence to process
• Experience with managing department budgets
