Are you an experienced Solicitor ( c 3-5 years PQE ) with high quality Personal Injury experience gained within a UK law firm or legal departments with a strong interest in International PI cases?

Our client is a leading national private practice full service law firm with a number of offices around the UK dealing with specialist areas in commercial and private law. They have a strong reputation for providing the highest quality of work and excellent standards of client care.

The Department

The IPI department acts on behalf of seriously injured Claimants whose cases involve a foreign law or jurisdictional element. Cases are pursued through the courts of England and Wales and also in foreign jurisdictions where appropriate.

The Role

This position is a really exciting opportunity to work on high profile, high value cases within our (highly regarded) international team in our leading Personal Injury department.


• Varied responsibilities, including taking instructions from and advising clients, undertaking legal research, preparing pleadings, witness statements, applications and bundles, liaising with experts, attending conferences with Counsel, clients and experts, obtaining evidence to support clients’ cases, and prosecuting cases through to settlement meeting or trial, if necessary.

• Achieving own time-recording and fee income targets. Attaining required Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours to comply with Law Society Regulations, where appropriate.

• Managing a challenging case-load with full conduct of clients’ matters from inception to completion.

• Assisting more senior fee earners on all aspects of high value and complex cross-jurisdictional cases.

• Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attending training events to ensure application of up to date legal knowledge and best practice.

• Contributing to relevant practice development initiatives and events to promote and develop the firm’s practice.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed applicants, who can demonstrate that they will thrive on working in a busy environment. Ideally we are looking for candidates with around two years’ experience in claimant PI claims. It will be helpful (not essential) if suitable candidates have experience of international cases involving elements of foreign law and/or cross border disputes. Foreign language skills would also be helpful, but are not essential.

Candidates will need to have excellent client care and communication skills, as the role will involve assisting with client communication and liaising with other professionals. The successful candidate will need to show that they can cope well under pressure and maintain excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and keep to tight deadlines.
