Accountancy Lecturer (approx 0.9 FTE)

(nearly) full time, permanent contract

This post is an ideal opportunity to join a well organised and stable faculty. You will work as part of the faculty team although be autonomous in your subject.

Both AAT and A level courses are delivered which include both AS & A2 levels; you will be the sole teacher for this subject. The current split per week between the subjects is; 6.5 hours for AAT and 15 hours for A level courses (AS & A2 combined.)

AAT is currently taught on 2 evenings per week, Wednesday & Thursday, however there may be some flexibility on the evenings. A level courses are taught during the daytime sessions.

Accountancy is a popular subject with class sizes of approximately 25 students per class. A key skill for students is to have good literacy skills as well as good numeracy skills as, in accountancy; report writing is a key requirement. Therefore the successful candidate must have good numeracy & literacy skills and be able to be supportive & motivational towards students.

As an organised department, the current Accountancy Lecturer has compiled the schemes of work are already for the year as well as the initial student assessments.

This role would suit someone with a PGCE qualification and sounds skills in accountancy. Alternatively an accountant with PTTLS or DTTLS (or similar) qualifications may be suitable for this post. Either way, you will need to be highly organised to succeed in this post. Of course, applications are welcome from current Accountancy Lecturer post holders.
