The Business

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting a permanent Assistant Management Accountant for a highly profitable, instantly recognisable business based in central Manchester. This business has a unique operating model and will provide the successful candidate with unparalleled levels of exposure and progression within a dynamic, fast paced organisation. Due to internal promotions the business is looking to recruit an assistant management accountant to assist with growing workloads and an ever growing client portfolio.

The Role

With an established team already in place the business that we're representing are in need of an Assistant Management Accountant to develop and grow with the business. Once in role the candidate will also be assisting with all areas of management accounts and will report directly into a senior manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting across multiple cost centres and will assist with all aspects of management accounts. The candidate will have a close working relationship with a number of senior stakeholders so it is essential that the successful candidate has gravitas and has strong communication skills.

Specific aspects of the role include:

* Assisting with all month / quarter and year end reporting activities
* Assist with all departmental process improvements
* Liaise with stakeholders across multiple cost centres including members of the senior management team
* Investigate variances across the P&L
* Assist with all budgeting and forecasting across the business unit
* Preparation of journals and review of the P&L
* Lead on the preparation of accruals and prepayments
* Reconciliation of multicurrency bank accounts
* Liaising with auditors and assisting with any queries
* Assist with VAT return preparation and the subsequent reporting

The Candidate

The successful candidate will either be a qualified AAT or part qualified CIMA / ACCA candidate (study support will be provided with this role) with exposure of working in a larger business. Ideally the candidate will have assisted in the preparation of management accounts (up to trial balance) and will have been involved in improving processes within their current organisation. This role will give the successful candidate the ideal opportunity to get involved in a rapidly evolving business which has bold growth plans over the next 3 - 5 years. Stakeholder management is key as the candidate will be liaising with senior finance contacts so strong communication skills are a must. A good working knowledge of Excel is essential for this role as the candidate will be responsible for manually inputting information and looking into the detail relating to process improvement initiatives
