IT Infrastructure & Project Support Engineer 2nd & 3rd Line Support - Windows AD 2008, Exchange 2010, Citrix VDI

Central London - West End, W1

£29,139 incl. London Weighting - Fixed term contract to 31/03/18

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop their skills and progress into third line infrastructure support. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small team of infrastructure engineers to provide BAU and project support, assisting in the design, documentation, and deployment of IS related Projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop their skills and progress into third line infrastructure support. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Working within a small team to provide infrastructure and project support, assisting in the design, documentation, and deployment of IS related Projects.

- You will work with senior members of the infrastructure team to deliver IS related support or project work, working within ITIL framework (specifically IS Service Desk and Problem Management) and work closely with other IS staff and 3rd parties in support of service delivery.

- Main Duties will include Providing 2nd/3rd line support using ITSM tool to priorities and resolve incidents\problems within SLA, Performing daily checks and routine maintenance for business continuity, including monitoring backups.

- General Housekeeping\Administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server, including AD, GPOs, DHCP, DNS, and Exchange 2010 producing reports on usage where required.

- Provide technical expertise to the end user, and service desk, raise or highlight any issues or potential issues applicable to IS Service delivery of projects, or running of the platform

- Follow change control process to help create and maintain VDI and builds updates including Windows 7/8/10 builds for Laptops, Surfaces, Thin Clients and Kiosk. Deploying updates and software via tools such as SCCM, give feedback on requirements to update images for XenApp, XenDesktop, Desktop, and Thin clients ensuring that documentation is kept up to date.

- Build and configure servers both physical and virtual, to specifications, and creating supporting documentation, basic VMWare administration including managing datastores and VM migrations.

- Update and create Knowledge base articles in relation to projects, and other solutions, Carry out knowledge transfer, training and documentation in relation to handover of support For projects

- Configure, install and troubleshoot managed switches and Cisco routers including local network patching

Key technical skills will include:

- Experience with Citrix VDI XenApp & XenDesktop

- Extensive experience supporting Windows Server 2008 AD and Windows 7 / 10 Desktop

- Supporting Windows Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, GPO, TCP/IP

- Supporting MS Exchange 2010

- Experience project delivery

- Deploying workstation builds via WDS and SCCM

- Understand group membership, user & NTFS share permissions

- You will have excellent written and oral communication skills including excellent interpersonal skills with staff at all levels of IT experience

You will be working within a three core shift system thus ensuring that the IS Services are adequately covered between 08:00hrs and 20:00hrs with occasional rare travel to support local offices and stakeholders throughout the country. Participation in weekend work or late night working to complete projects or provide support as required.

Due to the secure nature of the organisation there is a strong preference for candidates with current security clearance or at the very least CRB checked.
