Senior Information Analyst - NHS

I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS Portsmouth CCG for a Senior Information Analyst. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 3 months, Monday to Friday and full time 37.5 hours a week.

Senior Information Analyst - Job Purpose

This role works across the Planning & Performance team to provide analytical support to the planning and performance agenda for the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire (PSEH) CCGs.

* Responsible for the operational management, understanding and co-ordination of all non-financial performance issues for the three CCGs, including the provision of customer focused support, advice and guidance to the three CCGs in relation to non-financial performance.

* To provide direct support to the project leads in the development of SMART outcomes - including KPIs and outcome measures - to enable accurate monitoring and support delivery of project outcomes, ensuring that there are systems and processes in place to report against each KPI and outcome measure.

* Responsible for the monitoring of the CCGs performance against strategic plans, business objectives and performance targets / indicators, including, but not limited to, the NHS Constitution, the Five Year Forward View, QIPP, Strategic Plans and Operating Plans.

* Responsible for supporting the team in working with the CCGs to develop and manage a performance management framework and system which promotes and encourages all organisations to deliver health services that are fast and convenient, efficient, high quality, delivered around the needs of the patient and improve health outcomes. This includes supporting the identification areas of poor performance and work with responsible managers to ensure performance improvement plans are agreed and implemented.

* To work with activity, contracts and financial information feeds to determine the effects of QIPP schemes on whole system performance, highlighting and detailing anomalies to the team using statistical and trend analysis techniques. Triangulating data to ensure the whole system impact is taken into account.

* To support the production and provision of regular reporting on delivery at all levels:
* Integrated Performance Report
* Executive level programme level reporting
* Executive level project level reporting
* QIPP reporting
* To ensure the accuracy and data quality of gathered data.

Senior Information Analyst - Key Skills

* A Degree level qualification; preferably in a numerate or computing discipline or Health Informatics and experience in a relevant discipline that will demonstrate suitability for an Information Analyst role.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge in Health Service analytical services.
* In depth specialist knowledge and understanding of information services, analysis and systems
* In depth understanding of NHS national and local IT policy.
* Data analysis, interpretation (including statistical and trend analysis techniques) and report writing.
* Line management experience.
* MS Office packages. Experience in SQL would be of value
