Celebrating 15 years of consumer product design and manufacture, this award winning best in class company are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their vibrant and multi skilled innovation and design team. The company, who are an instantly recognisable branded name are fiercely ambitious, with impressive growth plans to bring new and exciting products to market. There is always a real buzz in the studio and they are looking for enthusiastic and energetic like minded individual to join the team.

Working within the electronics team to develop, support and test a range of technically leading hair care products. Work will include supporting the electronics development of consumer products, design of product testing systems, execution of testing, reporting and presentation of results.

Hardware development (electronics)

* Working within the electronics team in the design and development of PCBs for consumer products (from conception to manufacture) ensuring good practices and cost-savings are shared across projects

* Schematic capture and library management using Altium (previous experience in other similar software packages would also be beneficial)

* Digital and analogue design

* Circuit simulation using OrCAD

* Carry out hardware validation and fault-finding

* Component selection

* Liaise with mechanical engineers and PCB layout consultants to ensure the PCBs are designed correctly

* Liaise with contract manufacturers and support the Manufacturing Team

* PCB rework and prototyping (breadboard)

Firmware development (highly beneficial but not required)

* Analyse, modify and expand existing firmware (embedded software in C, microcontrollers)

* Basic understanding of SVN (source control) and firmware development

* Carry out firmware validation and fault-finding

Test design & support

* Design & development of product test rigs and test procedures for lab and manufacture testing, including use of LabVIEW

* Use test equipment including thermocouples, infrared cameras, oscilloscopes, DMM, current probes and power supplies

* Product testing (EMC, safety and compliance)

* Support the Quality Control team in the analysis of field returns

* Creation of presentation of test reports to a professional standard

Research & development

* Early stage electronics development and testing of new technologies in heating and air control

Project Management

Take ownership and manage small work packages or projects providing regular updates and ensuring the deadlines are met


* Degree educated in electronics with previous work experience and good scientific method.

* The role is ideal for a mid-level electronics engineer with a background in embedded software and previous experience in consumer electronics.

* This post requires an analytical approach and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and concepts.

* Energy and enthusiasm for product development working in a highly dynamic environment.

* Prepared to travel to China, EU and US.
