Relief Cook/Trainer in Aylesbury/Buckinghamshire/Berkshire.

Job Outline: The cook/Trainer will support the Area Managers in the delivery of the School Meals Catering Service. The role holder will work with the individual school cooks to ensure that the school kitchens operate in a line that follows the policies and procedures of the company. You will also deliver group and one to one skills training sessions to staff and there is also the requirement for the role holder to be responsible for relief catering cover.

Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and safety standards are understood and delivered by all staff.
- Coach the employees at each of our sites to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of the day-to-day service and in particular, play an active part in the assessment of the sites to maintain safe operating environment for all staff.
- Promoting and maintaining the company standards within each site and ensure that each sitecomplies with all relevant legislations and regulations.
- Ensure that all required training is up to date.
- Support the cooks at each site to maintain all relevant records which are required for the running of the kitchen, eg: ordering and stock taking, food temperature taking and recording, checking accuracy of time sheets and cleaning schedules and to identify and deliver training in any of these required areas.

Key skills:
- Must have previous catering knowledge and experience, including stock management.
- Must have excellent communication skills and extensive craft skills.
- Experience in in training and developing staff.
- Should be able to build a strong working relationship and be able to lead and manage staff.
- Catering Experience (minimum of 2 years)

Required Documentation:
- Clean driving license and own vehicle, need to be willing to travel within an area.
- Pass a DBS
- Relevant qualifications in Food Safety and Hygiene standards and Health & Safety (IOSH and COSHH) as well as a GCSE in Maths and English.

This is a temp to perm possibility deal. This role is offered on a permanent basis over 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday during term-time (38 weeks per annum plus 1 additional week) and the position is subject to a successful CRB check
