Payroll and Pensions Administrator 

The Practice is one of the UK's leading providers of primary care services and delivers specialist clinical services. They also operate a growing network of surgeries, delivering an effective infrastructure which allows their GPs to concentrate on their core skill of practicing medicine. 

Position: Payroll & Pensions Administrator 
Location: Little Chalfont, Amersham 
Job Type: Full Time, 12 month fixed term contract 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £25 - £28K per annum 

About the role: 

The Payroll and Pensions Administrator primary responsibility is to assist the Payroll & Pensions Manager in the day to day administration of the group payroll process & NHS Pension Scheme and additional qualifying schemes within The Practice. This will primarily focus on being the first point of contact for all pay related queries and ensuring pension contributions are deducted correctly and paid over to the NHS Pensions Agency and additional qualifying scheme providers. 

Responsibilities: 

- All employees enrolled into a qualifying pension scheme 
- Ensure that all new eligible employees are automatically entered in to the NHS Pensions Scheme or a qualifying alternative pension scheme as necessitated by automatic enrolment 
- Remove from the NHS Pensions Scheme and qualifying alternative schemes those employees who have completed an opting out form 
- Provide the NHS Pensions Agency pensionable salary information for benefits preservation when members leave the scheme 
- Respond promptly to routine correspondence from the NHS Pensions Agency and alternative qualifying scheme providers 
- Maintain the records of employees, their membership of the scheme and their contributions 
- Be the point of contact for all pension related issues, in the first instance, within the business 
- Ensure all payroll information is processed and to investigate / resolve issues 
- Update and maintain all relevant payroll reports with the assistance of the Payroll & Pensions Manager 
- Ensure accurate filing of all supporting documentation 
- Plans and prioritises tasks, some of which may be on-going to ensure deadlines are met and achievement of targets, which may be weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually 
- Ensure that monthly financial timetables are adhered to with regard to submission of payment details to ensure deadlines are achieved 
- Flexible in completing tasks / projects, in being able to change plans when required 
- Provide support to the Payroll & Pensions Manager as required to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive payroll & pension`s service 

Essential Skills / Experiences: 

- English and mathematics to diploma level 
- Payroll Technician level or equivalent, combination of education, short courses and experience 
- Experience in payroll administration 
- Experience of working in a complex finance accounting department in a customer focused environment 
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word) 
- Accurate data entry processing experience 
- Must attend statutory and mandatory training courses and the stipulated intervals
