Project Support Workers - Spider Recruitment Services are delighted to be supporting a fantastic organisation with their search for Project Support Workers to be based in Ipswich and the surrounding areas. This company support young people in bridging the gap to independent living, helping with accommodation, life skills and community engagement.

As a Project Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing a supportive, safe and stable environment for young people aged 16 / 17 years old. You will help them prepare for the challenges life brings, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive independently.

Other key duties and responsibilities includes

- Build supportive, professional and positive relationships with the young people
- Recognise and encourage their potential capabilities, providing a well-structured programme of activities to help them achieve their placement plan outcomes.
- Deliver happy, supportive and secure homes for young people.
- Display positive role-modelling at all times, in reaction to personal dress, hygiene and demeanour.
- Ensure safeguarding of young people is your priority
- Follow procedure and policy, reporting any acts of abuse or poor practice where necessary
- Observe strict confidentiality at all times
- Remain aware of and be sensitive to the need to foster and maintain good relationships and communication with relatives, guardians, social workers or other advocates of the young people
- Gain understanding of contract compliance responsibility for your area
- Read all Placement Plans and Risk Assessments for young people placed in your responsibility and sign them off
- Follow risk assessments rigorously, understanding that issues relating to challenging behaviour triggers response.
- Alert the Project Co-ordinator of any concerns you may have
- Prevent any form of bullying/ abuse whilst in the home or in social settings
- Follow the SMART work plans set for you by your Supported Living Manager
- Work to improve and maintain the young people`s placement in the community, with encouragement to access community based activities including; leisure, education, employed, volunteering.
- Liaise with other agencies in a professional manner where required
- Attend monthly face to face supervisions with you Project Co-ordinator
- Attend bi monthly team meetings for your area and contribute to discussion, further learning and best practice
- Take responsibility for your training needs in line with your personal development plan
- Ensure the timely completion of all administration duties in line with the role

Experience within a similar role is desirable, however training, and the opportunity for further learning will be provided.
On offer is a salary of £7.50 per hour, rising to £8.00 per hour after the probationary period. Also, 30 days holiday is on offer, and reimbursement of logged expenses.
