Prospero Teaching are working with a secondary Special Educational Needs (needs are High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder) school in Reading, Berkshire, looking for three teachers to start in permanent, full time teaching positions in September.

No experience in Autism Spectrum Disorder is necessary, and Newly Qualified Teachers are encouraged to apply! So long as you have Qualified Teacher Status in one of the sought after specialisms you will be eligible to apply. The specialisms needed are:

* Humanities
* English/Drama
* PE

About the school:

* Caters for children with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger Syndrome
* Students aged 5 - 16 - the successful teacher will be teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 to a high level
* Small class sizes - maximum of 8 students per class
* Culture of high aspirations, students should make the same progress as their mainstream counterparts
* Pupils are developed not only academically, but socially and emotionally, and leave the school with excellent life skills
* Excellent and structured career progression is on offer to the right teacher

The successful Teacher must have:

* Qualified Teacher Status - you would preferably be primary trained with some permanent experience
* A specialism in one of the above named subjects
* An interest in working with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder students

The school are interviewing now and are on their second stage interviews for some vacancies - however, by applying with the right qualifications you stand a good chance of achieving interview, especially for the English/Drama role.
