Following a restructure of the Manufacturing Engineering department we have 3 x Project Manufacturing Engineer vacancies covering the following areas: NPI / A&D, ETO / CTO & CIP.

The purpose of these roles are to own and coordinate within the Manufacturing Engineering department the manufacturing deliverables within all stages of the Product Commercialisation Process for new product platforms, customised products and continuous improvement projects to achieve designed for manufacturing products with safe, sustainable, LEAN and cost efficient production processes.

Experience:

·Experience of working within an assembly environment.
·Use of risk mitigation tools to control risks within projects and prioritise risk to be mitigated.
·Relevant experience in implementing the principles of lean manufacturing.
·Project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects.
·Experience of utilising problem solving and root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.
·Experience in optimising production processes as well as providing production support and training.
·Design for manufacture knowledge.
·Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
·Previous experience in key manufacturing principles such as TPM, 8D, 6S problem solving, product responsibility, continuous improvement process as well as new product introduction.

Goals:

·Ownership of all manufacturing deliverables within all stages of the Product Commercialisation Process for new product platforms, customised products and continuous improvement projects.
·Projects delivered on time to standard and within budget.
·Products designed for manufacturing and cost.
·Manufacturing system and processes optimized to new or modified products.
·Coordination within manufacturing and other departments to drive continuous improvement.
·Manageable impact of first of kind products on manufacturing system performance and on time delivery of engineer to order products.
·Controlled phase out and phase in of new parts and products within manufacturing.

Tasks:

·Represent the manufacturing department within the Product Commercialisation Process and ownership of the defined deliverables.
·Participate in project team meetings and present manufacturing projects status to site management team.
·Coordinate and manage layout modifications of the manufacturing system with the manufacturing systems lead and involved cell engineers.
·Coordinate the development and modification of the manufacturing processes for the new systems and platforms with the manufacturing's systems lead and cell engineers.
·Create and manage planning and deliverables for PCP projects and take accountability for on time to standard and within budget realisation.
·Determine PCP project budget requirements for manufacturing and provide financial accountability for manufacturing expenses.
·Identify the critical parts within the manufacturing process on safety, environmental, logistical, (manual) handling, tooling, training or capacity level and formulate the necessary mitigation plans for the identified risk.
·Coordinate manufacturing project activities with all other implicated departments (engineering, purchasing, customer support, finance, facilities, product marketing).
·Manage and coordinate the system release into production of the new or modified system (BOM release/EC, cost roll …).
·Coordinate cut in investigation for the EC implementation process and ownership of the consequential phase out/in process for the involved parts and products.
·Coordinate and manage Beta system manufacturing and evaluate design for manufacturing accumulating in design modification requests by EC and definition of required process setup and changes.
·Create and validate the accuracy of the manufacturing technical data (including routings and build notes) in coordination with the cell manufacturing engineers.
·Develop and implement new processes and manufacturing equipment to meet the requirements of our Engineer to Order (ETO), New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
·Initiate make or buy investigations for assemblies within the project for the new or modified system.
·Coordinate and support outsourcing for make or buy identified assemblies in the project.
·Encourage innovation to reduce costs and workflows and guarantees the feasibility and reproducibility of the new or modified system during the project.
·Support identification and setup of internal traceability of all critical parts of the new or modified system during the project.
·Provide product and project risk analysis from manufacturing point of view.
·Presentation of project and product to manufacturing team.
·Defines and optimises manufacturing documentation, tools, workflow for manufacturing based upon information supplied by upstream development engineering functions.
·Coordinate the setup of training programs for new or modified products and processes defined by the project.
·Coordinate with procurement the setup of the logistical parameters for the project defined new or modified parts.
·Ensure design for manufacture and assembly techniques are implemented at the concept phase of new product development, to also include monitoring unit production costs to deliver a product on time and to budget.
·Coordinate continuous improvement projects covering the entirety of the manufacturing system.
·Support sample approval process for the new parts of the modified or new system during the project.
·Creation of technical specifications for manufacturing equipment, budget proposal, investment calculation, supplier selection in coordination with purchasing, technical review with the supplier and final implementation in coordination with the cell manufacturing's engineers to cover the manufacturing requirements of the project.
·Support internal and external quality management and EHS audits
