The Role

The Design Engineer will work as part of the Engineering and Project team. The main duties of the role will include:

  • Produce 3D CAD Models (Solidworks)

  • Produce Technical Drawings from 3D Models (Solidworks).

  • Create Bill of Materials (Company MRP system).

  • Creation of part numbers to ensure all technical requirements are met (Company MRP system).

  • Use company standard procedures (ECN's etc.).

  • Provide mechanical designs to customer requirements and specifications.

  • Initiate and develop feasible, cost effective and reliable mechanical designs from concept through to manufacture.

  • Assist with mechanical designs to customer requirements/specifications.

  • Conduct design reviews.

  • Participate in design reviews.

  • Provide ongoing support for current engineering projects.

  • Actively participate in project meetings.

  • Check and sign drawings in accordance with internal specifications, industry standards and customer requirements.

  • Liaise with customer on technical queries including concessions and attend customer meetings.

  • Liaise with suppliers on technical queries

  • Support product assembly and testing

  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to and visit a customer / supplier office, production facility or industrial/construction job site.

  • Additional hours may be necessary as work load dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.

The Person

  • Minimum HNC, HND in an engineering discipline, with solid engineering experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD preferably Solidworks.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent management and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • Effective team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous and organized.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office application, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of sealing solutions products will be an advantage.
  • Ideally possess relevant experience in upstream Oil & Gas industry.
