Database Administrator

A Database Administrator is required by a utilities giant based in Bath, supporting the implementation and transition into production of two major programmes of work.

As the Database Administrator, you will manage the availability and performance of the databases that underpin all of the systems. Ensure appropriate hardware resources are allocated to the databases, to guarantee high resilience and optimum performance. You will also be responsible for planning and management of improvements and maintenance of databases to include new releases and upgrades as well as routine maintenance.

Along with at least 2-3 years' experience working as a Database Administrator, you will also have the following:
* Substantial experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2012, and 2008r2 in a production environment using SSMS, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS is essential.
* In depth knowledge and experience of Transact-SQL and Stored Procedure
* Excellent understanding of the principles of good database design and associated standards associated with role.
* High level of understanding of enterprise infrastructure, security, scalability, flexibility, maintainability and reliability
* Excellent communications skills to explain either verbally or in writing technical concepts.
* Ability to work independently at times and taking into account the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information.

This position would suit an individual who is looking for a long-term opportunity. This position reports to the Data, Integration and BI Team Leader and is expected to work closely with the other team members across Service Development, and the wider S&NM department.
