Do you have experience of supporting children and young people? Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? Would you like to work in a rural area in the Staffordshire countryside? We are looking for experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic support workers to support teenage girls in the East Staffordshire area.

You will be working at a specialist Registered College in the Staffordshire area where they offer therapeutic support and on-site education to teenage girls aged 12-19. The company's ethos is to provide quality care and support to vulnerable young people who display challenging behaviours and complex needs. A salary of up to £21,000is being offered along with a shift pattern of working 7 days on and 7 days off - This does include significant periods of f duty time during the 7 day working pattern

You will be responsible for

* The day to day care of the young girls living in the residential home, offering support , guidance and a nurturing environment.
* Working as a key worker where you focus on the young persons specific needs that are identified in their care plan
* Working under the direction of the Team Manager and Senior Support Workers to ensure that the overall culture of the company and the statement of purpose is met at all times
* Building positive and appropriate relationships with young people as well as supporting them with home work, school clubs and specific leisure time and activities
* Writing and implementation of care plans and monitoring the young persons progress and development

For this exciting role it is imperative that you

* Have experience of working with children and young people who have EBD and challenging behaviours
* QCF/NVQ3 children and young people is desirable but not essential
* Have a sound understanding of current childcare legislation and the Five Outcomes
* Are able to engage appropriately and build rapport with young people and are able to recognise challenging behaviours and conflict
* Hold a full driving licence and are prepared to drive as part of the role
* Are able to work a shift pattern of 7 days on and 7 days off - there are periods of down time during the 7 day working pattern
