A leading housing association is looking for an experienced Homeless Prevention's Officer to provide a high quality homeless prevention and assessment service; ensuring outstanding customer service and service delivery standards are achieved and providing a critical source of support for local people seeking help with their housing needs.

Applicants must have the following:

An awareness of housing issues that could lead to loss of accommodation or homelessness

A good awareness of Landlord and Tenant legislation and practise relating to all tenures.

A good awareness of Welfare Benefits, particularly Housing Benefits.

Working knowledge of homelessness policy and practise and the housing options approach.

An awareness of occasions that require liaison with other public services (eg child protection, domestic violence)

Good understanding of property conditions, lettable standards, overcrowding and suitability.

Understanding of public policy issues and practise around social housing.

Sound knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice.

Sound knowledge of homelessness legislation and best practice, supported by practical experience.

A good understanding of Housing and welfare Benefits.

Basic understanding of building maintenance and repair.

Applicants must also have an up to date DBS

Pay rate is £13.35 PAYE
