Business Development Manager - Material Handling Equipment

Locations - Greater London, London, Tottenham

Salary - DOE £25,000-£45,000 + Uncapped Commission Structure - Car, Laptop, Mobile, Pension + Excellent Benefits

The Role
The main focus for the Business Development Manager is to target new businesses within the Materials Handling industry whilst managing an existing portfolio of clients. This is a pure hunter based role, where you will develop new key accounts and relationships to achieve your set targets.
Selling Materials Handling Equipment into various sectors, you will be targeted to ensure growth and retain key accounts through exceptional service.
The sales cycle from initial introduction can vary, so strategy will be key. Someone tenacious to deal with a longer than normal sales cycle.

The Candidate
As the Business Development Manager, you will be tenacious, driven and strategic. Your approach will be key therefore credibility in understanding your market - Construction equipment knowledge will be crucial for this role. Someone from an Engineering background will be best suited to this role.
This is an experienced level role for a Business Development Manager, therefore you will have a successful proven track record within a similar role, displaying your career achievements in numbers year upon year, the ability to close deals and manage the accounts effectively thereafter.

You will be experienced in selling the following -

Construction Equipment or Heavy Machinery or Heavy Plant or Earth Moving Equipment or Materials Handling Equipment - Trucks, Lorries, Cranes, Telehandlers, Forklifts, Excavators, Diggers, Loaders

Success Characteristics
Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment, Construction Machines, Heavy Machinery or Construction related products
Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels within a matrix management structure
Creative and critical thinker
Good technical skills with strong business acumen
Time management skills.
Ability to prioritise and focus on a task to completion.
Results focused
Motivated to travel and work independently and effectively within a multicultural environment
