Manage projects for company Technology Services in a controlled and formally recognised fashion
* Create and manage a Microsoft Project Plan, Project on a Page and supporting Project Governance Forums.
* Integrate supplier plans into the over-arching company plan(s)
* Manage and track progress against tasks and adhere to agreed escalation processes ensuring that all company and suppliers on the delivery of projects to ensure that quality criteria and timescales are met.
* Provide input into best practice process improvement to optimise delivery
* Work with current suppliers to ensure delivery to their project plan(s)
* Create and manage the project/programme milestone tracker and report non compliance and exceptions
* Maintain a full risk and issues register that is reviewed in accordance with the Project Initiation Document (PID) and manage the overall Project Risk Management Board
* Where necessary define, or adhere to clear governance rules with appropriate engagement from relevant stakeholders
* Manage procurement process for assigned projects according to the procurement process and any relevant legal regulations as well as prepare business cases for the Head of Solution Delivery for assigned projects.
* Manage authorised budgets as agreed with the Head of Technology Services for assigned projects.
* Collaborate and liaise with stakeholders to ensure that their functional, technical, operational and quality requirements are understood and translated into requirements specifications that can be quoted against in terms of time, cost and systems impacts.
* Understand in sufficient detail the operational abilities and constraints of each system involved in each project.
* For each project manage the transition from project status to operational management with the Service Delivery Manager.
The post holder will be expected to work within established project methodologies, departmental processes and procedures with minimum day-to-day supervision, to provide project delivery and manage to an agreed quality standard as set out by the departmental objectives. They will be expected to manage their own projects and defined budgets, and to exercise some independence in the arrangement of immediate work priorities in order to react to changing priorities and to ensure that key deadlines and objectives are met.

The post holder is expected to apply their technical and working knowledge to confidently provide advice and solutions to routine day-to-day problems within their work area and be able with supervision to deliver new areas of project work within the Technology Services Team. Under guidance they will be expected to seek out opportunities for sponsorship to develop small projects and events in allocated areas of work.

Generally, if guidance is needed they are able to refer to well-defined departmental procedures, and they are also able to refer more complex issues/problems where the solution is not straightforward to their line manager for either guidance or resolution.
