Our client, a major player in their field, are currently seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their team. With an experienced network of distributors worldwide, the company has offices in the UK, US, Europe and the East, and is enjoying year on year growth.

The Role

Electronic (and software) design are currently provided by an outside consultancy. The client has decided to bring these core skills in house. Due to the safety related nature of our business the electronic design of our products has historically been based upon analogue electronics, although the more recent product offerings have been analogue and digital based (micro controller and MISRA C 2012 software)

The Electronics Engineer will be required to bring or establish a profound understanding of the requirements of BS EN 60079, IEC61010 and BS EN 61508 (MISRA 'C’ 2012) and our PCB/schematic design software (Altium)

The Electronics Engineer will be based in Nottingham and will provide technical and application support to colleagues, distributors and customers whilst playing the leading role in the design and approval of our products

They will be responsible for worldwide product approvals (ATEX, IECEx, cCSAus, etc) and full product testing including temperature, RFI/EMC, functional safety, etc

They will have the drive, passion and enthusiasm which will enable the company to grow and improve their product range to ensure we retain our market leader position

To be considered for this role you must possess the following;

A degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience of analogue and digital design in a similar role
Experience of ATEX, IECEx and cCSAus hazardous area approvals and Ex design would be highly advantageous
Experience of functional safety, EMC/RFI and temperature testing would be advantageous
Experience of working as part of a project team
Proactive in promoting new ideas and solutions
Good problem solving skills and ability to provide solutions
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and telephone)
