One of London’s finest pubs is looking for a Sous Chef to join their kitchen brigade and produce the highest quality of food!

This gastro pub in Angel has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It has a Heaven, Earth and Hell theme running throughout; a modern take on a traditional pub, with classy decor and dungeon like toilets. The place is flooded with natural light due to the large windows spanning three walls. Light and dark wood make up the interior and furniture, with splashes of colour here and there.

They take pride in both food and drink, having carefully selected their favourite beers and wines from all over the world to bring to the menu, all from quality producers. Their food menu consists of traditional pub food, however they have a commitment to providing a strong selection of organic, healthy and vegetarian dishes.

As Sous Chef, you will deliver food within 20 minutes of the order, ensure all food is delivered in first class condition, follow the order sheet and prep food so all items on the menu are available, notify management/staff if any item isn’t available, check deliveries and tick each item, fill wastage sheet correctly, complete a stock take each Monday and email to head office, check invoices, enter them onto the weekly paperwork and file and chase up any outstanding credit notes.

The role will also include managing the cleaning rotas, labelling and stock rotation, daily food prep, completing fridge temperature sheets, working a section during service, working alone when quiet, training and supervising staff, being a point of contact for customer issues, HACCP, managing stock ordering and rotation, deliveries and wastage, weekly paperwork, taking responsibility for the kitchen when the Head Chef is away.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in as a Sous Chef in a pub / bar or similar environment, like a restaurant. They will have strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team in order to achieve results. You will need to be flexible – you will work 50 hours per week and this will include early / late / double shifts and weekend work (your day off each will change depending on rota).
