Are you a Support Worker looking for a change of direction or a new challenge in the Milton Keynes area?

We are looking to fill the positions of both Support Worker and Senior Support worker.

Reporting to the Head of Care, the responsibilities for both roles are outlined below;

Support Worker


To support Service Users with all aspects of their agreed support plan where appropriate and to support them with personal care needs and to manage their medication, including administration where appropriate. To help Support Service Users to develop skills to enable them to manage their daily lives including help with food preparation where appropriate, to actively listen to Service users views, decisions and choices to achieve their planned goals and personal outcomes.

To Support Service Users to be at the centre of any planning about

To become active and valued members of the community assisting them to access community facilities of their choice.

To assist in Service Users holidays when and if required and to help with access to employment, education and leisure opportunities.

Inform the Supported Living Manager of any concerns related to the health and wellbeing of the service user and help support the Service User to make complaints if it becomes necessary.

Senior Support Worker

* To be responsible for the shift management of the Supported Living & Domiciliary Care Services in the absence of the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager.
* To commit to our CIC aims, objectives and values
* Engage and facilitate people with learning disabilities & autism to enhance and promote their independence and quality of life.
* To use SPELL consistently to create structure, predictability and bring about positive engagement.
* Using a person-centred approach and appropriate augmented communication tools, create positive experiences, opportunities and develop service users.
* To maintain service and practice in accordance with agreed values, policies procedures and quality assurance standards.
* Ensure the service users are receiving the highest standards of professional support experiencing life opportunities helping to promote growth and independence as identified in individuals person centred plans
* Display a positive and professional approach to your work ethics and contribute to the wider needs of the organisation and its stakeholders.
* To support Service Users in their own homes and in the community through person centred approaches
* To provide flexible and supportive services to maximise Service User independence
* To work within the context of organisational policies and procedures
* Support Service Users to take control of their lives and to maximise their inclusion and participation in the community according to their needs, wishes and preferences.

Essential Criteria:

For Support Worker

* Experience in a similar role

For Senior Support Worker

* Excellent understanding of person centred planning and personalisation
* Excellent understanding of positive behaviour support and experience of working with people whose behaviour may be described as challenging.
* Excellent understanding of CQC registration requirements and the Essential Standards ofQuality and Safety
* Excellent understanding of all other relevant legislation e.g. Safeguarding, Riddor, Health and Safety at Work Act
* Experience of supervising staff
* Understanding of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
* Health & Social Care Level 3
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a senior post with people with learning difficulties, autism and challenging behaviour within Residential or Supported Living services


40hrs per week on shift/rota basis
