Shift Manufacturing Manager required for a market leading FMCG manufacturer. This is a great opportunity to join a large professional manufacturer with a great reputation.

The role will appeal to those looking for progression into a Manufacturing Manager role within 18 months; the current Manufacturing Manager will be progressing into a GM role. The company are currently focusing on manufacturing improvements making key changes throughout the department, the role will suit those looking to add value and be a key part in the ongoing development.

The ideal candidate will have solid management/supervisory skills coupled with proven experience within a fast moving operational environment. You will have a good working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and excellent management skills.

Working in partnership with the Manufacturing Manager, you will have the core focus to ensure that all production targets are met on a day to day basis whilst effectively managing the operatives on site. You will have a focus on driving continuous improvements on the site and any quality improvements, playing a major part in initiatives and projects at the site.

You will be directly responsible for 15/16 operatives across the site when on shift. You will set clear department goals, maintain and ensure H+S standards to provide a safe working environment where all standards are met and company procedures are followed.

The role:

* Oversee manufacturing on shift as well as driving Lean manufacturing across the 24/7/365 operation at the site
* Provide strong technical support and knowledge and ensure manufacturing is efficient and meets all quality standards
* Ensure training and development is carried out
* Act as focal point for manufacturing engineering and quality issues including breakdowns

The person:

* Management experience in a manufacturing operation
* Working knowledge of Manufacturing processes and controls
* Experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment
* Capable of managing change within a busy manufacturing facility
* Experience of lean manufacturing
