Established for over 35 years delivering into rail, civil, construction, mining and power distribution markets this Company has become a leader in their field both in the UK and overseas.

This is a new position, and presents an excellent opportunity for a career professional seeking to develop exciting products from concept to manufacture, across a range of markets.

The successful candidate will possess an electrical engineering degree, or possibly an electrically biased HND, and strong customer facing skills, combined with strong product related vision, proven project management and commercial acumen.

Working closely with senior management and the design team, you will be responsible for identifying new products and product variants, as well as helping to expedite current concepts needed to maintain strategic growth.

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Manage, mentor and lead the design team ensuring departmental objectives are achieved.
• Develop products for new and emerging markets.
• Work alongside Clients to develop creative solutions.
• Manage and co-ordinate projects from concept to completion ensuring technical standards are maintained.
• Propose, create and control projects and to ensure that they satisfy the agreed specifications.
• Control and report project budgets and timescales.
• Maintain a technical awareness of processes, materials and technologies relevant to Company products.
• Provide technical support to other departments as required.
• Customer meetings and site visits (national) as required

PERSON SPEC
• Educated to degree level in electrical engineering (HND and relevant experience will be considered)
• Background in electrical design and development of a range of products.
• An exposure to manufacturing and the launch of new products.
• Technical/Engineering project management experience.
• Strong management skills
• Engineering project management skills, execute project planning and delivery on a cost-effective basis
• Profit and loss account management.
• Ability to competently demonstrate company capabilities in a customer facing scenario.
• Ability to communicate and influence peers across an organisation
