Temporary Event Coordinator
Responsible for: Guest Experience and Events
The Person
An Event Coordinator with experienced in assisting international delegates and the events market. The most important factor for this role is the person. You always go the extra mile and pride yourself on outstanding guest service. An enthusiastic, driven & experienced Event Coordinator operating within the Edinburgh festival.
Purpose of Job/Key objectives
Job purpose:
With direction from our clients Events & Internal Communications team , the posts main role will be to assist Festivals Edinburgh's International Projects Officer with international delegations activities once these arrive in Edinburgh.

The purpose of this job will also be to facilitate the smooth running of operations in the delegation centre and provide support to delegates, whilst providing the link between our client and Festivals Edinburgh.

In addition, support will be given to our clients Corporate Events during the festival period, as directed by Events & Internal Communications Officer.

* Providing support and assistance to the International Projects Officer when required with particular focus on volunteers' workload.
* Providing guidance to Delegation Centre Assistants in requirements of the venue in operational terms.
* Supporting the Internal Communications and Events Officer in the design and delivery of our client events throughout the period.
* Administration such as guest list management in relation to our client and Momentum events throughout the period.
* Liaising with caterers and other suppliers.
* Housekeeping and presentation of the Delegate Centre, working with and directing the volunteers in ensuring excellent presentation of the centre throughout Momentum.
* Providing support and assistance to the delegates whenever possible.
* Assisting the Festivals Edinburgh team where required
Ability to prioritise and plan workload efficiently, with a thorough and meticulous approach
A diplomatic person who is confident and effective at dealing with people at all levels.
Highly organised and self-motivated person who can efficiently and effectively manage a wide range of tasks.
Ability to work well under pressure and priorities tasks, as directed as well as using own initiative.
A 'guest driven' and 'positive pro-active' approach to all tasks.
